While many essential oil companies choose to ignore the NATURALLY occuring chemical constituents that mother nature creates; Hohm recognizes and intends to comply with all regulations regarding labeling and safe consumer protections. It is important to note that California's Prop 65 is not intended to deter users from using products that contain warnings, rather to help consumers identify and make informed decisions about the products they are consuming. As such please find the California Prop 65 warning statements for our oils listed below and note that none of these constituents are additives, rather NATURALLY occurring chemical constituents that mother nature created. In addition, we have listed chemical constituents below that are found in the Prop 65 statements for additional information about what the constituent is and where it comes from to learn more.

Estragole - is a naturally occurring organic compound found in many aromatic plant species including anise, marjoram, tarragon, basil and sweet fennel. As a result, all pure essential oils will also contain this natural chemical compound.

Beta-myrcene - is a naturally occurring organic compound found in many aromatic plant species including lemongrass, verbena, hops, cannabis and many citrus fruits. Because of its pleasing aroma, many consumer products use it to help enhance the smell of consumer products. Despite the risk as a potential carcinogen, β-myrcene is also thought to be associated with a number of therapeutic benefits.

Methyleugenol - is a naturally occurring organic compound found in about 350 plant species including some citrus fruits, herbs, spices as well as in bananas. Essential oils produced using any of the plant species that contain this compound, will also contain naturally occurring methyleugenol in the essential oil.
